After a lot of discussion and some deep soul searching, we realized that our current tour has given us the opportunity to leave Destiny's Child on a high note, united in our friendship and filled with an overwhelming gratitude for our music, our fans, and each other. They officially split in 2006, releasing a statement to MTV which read, 'We have been working together as Destiny's Child since we were 9, and touring together since we were 14. LaTavia and LeToya were replaced with Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin, who left after five months. The group were originally called Girl's Tyme and was made up of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett. Their back catalogue includes R&B anthems such as ‘Bug A Boo’, ‘No No No’, ‘Nasty Girl’ and the best Christmas song ever (no arguments!) ‘8 Days of Christmas’ which sound as good now as when they were released. The band arrived on the music scene in 1998 with their self-titled album, and a year later ‘The Writing's on The Wall’ followed.
